In this segment of the Genesis 1 to Revelation 22 Project, we are still implementing soap but in a “devotional manner.” We will still look at the text and draw our observations from the text and seek to apply faithfully. However, the whole segment will be done in a prayerful manner, seeking to engage our hearts and our minds upon Christ and His truth.
SOAP: Read Scripture > Observations on the Context > Apply Faithfully > Pray the Scripture
Jesus Tells Them Plainly
And while they abode in Galilee, Jesus said unto them, The Son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of men: 23 And they shall kill him, and the third day he shall be raised again. And they were exceeding sorry.
Jesus again tells the Disciples that He will be betrayed, killed, and that He will rise again. The Disciples were exceedingly sorry. They don’t seem to really grasp it though, for when these things begin to play out, they are huddling in a room wondering what to do next. Of course, we are humans too and would have difficulty grasping what Jesus was telling us—What Lord? You’re going to die! You just fed 5,000. You raised so and so from the dead! You said you are the Christ, our Messiah—who will be our Master?!
Can you identify with the Disciples?

Nehemiah & Ezra: Rebuilding through Partnership, Leadership Lesson Outlines + Ezra Study Bonus includes the expository study guide plus lesson and leadership and an expository bonus of outlines through Ezra. This one is a great guide for group leaders or teachers and pastors or aspiring elders while the expository guide would be a good text for group participants.
